Upon exiting the end, my inventory was wiped.

We had just defeated the ender dragon with my friend.  We were not on a realm or server.  Then skipped the credits, grabbed the dragon egg, and jumped into the portal.  We arrived at the beds outside the end portal, where we set our spawns and were immediately met with the death screen that said we had "fallen from a high place". We then tried to press the respawn button but it froze so we closed and reopened Minecraft. Then we noticed our inventories were empty and our levels were gone. There were no items on the ground or exp. I tried going back into the end but when I exited, the message appeared that I had fallen from a high place, even though I was alive and my inventory was wiped, but this time my exp levels were dropped and I picked them back up. We were in easy mode the whole time, cheats were not enabled, and this was the first time for both of us to defeat the dragon in survival without cheats.
