When i defeat the ended dragon I went and got the elytra and dragon head and when I jumpy in the portal to get to the over world it killed me and all my stuff was gone

This just happened to me today

I just had this happen, and now everytime i jump back to the overworld, it kills me and says the i fell from a high place. I've reset the game and my console, still to no avail.
