Me and my friend (I'm on Xbox and he's on Android) were killing the dragon, then we went to a end city portal, and when he tried to enter it by pearling in, he died of fall damage, so i went back to get his stuff and meet him in the overworld and the same happened to me, the game was kind of frozen on the generating world screen too so i restarted the game and losted our stuff, the bug keeped happening
