was mining then grey rubble fell down and i dont know what to do it keeps coming

This sounds like gravel. If you need flints, dig your way through (every time you break a gravel block there is a chance of you getting a flint).

If not, you can destroy the column in the following way:

  • dig 2 blocks down right in front of the column.

  • Jump into the hole you just made.

  • There are now 2 exposed blocks in front of  you.  They are right below the gravel column.

  • Mine out the bottom block.

  • Place a torch straight up on the floor you have just exposed.

  • Knock out the top block, letting the gravel fall on the torch.

  • The torch will break the gravel up.

  • Build back up to where you were.

By the way, "vertical torches break falling gravel", is one of the tips displayed while loading on the final version,  if I recall correctly.

O yeah i did get flints
