I am on a windows 10, and the cross that goes on the front to tell me where to hit,has disappeared. also, my item boxes aren't there either, so i am having trouble controlling it. I just bought minecraft, so it would be really upsetting to not have minecraft on my computer.

Most likely F1 was accidentally pressed during gameplay. This toggles the HUD.
Can you see if pressing F1 while playing resolves the issue?
Alternatively you can also toggle this setting in: Settings -> Video -> Hide HUD
