Keyboard issues on Win 10 Insider builds

Minecraft Windows 10 Edition appears to not respond well to keyboard input on latest Windows 10 insider builds. You have to hit keys twice for them to perform an action, and when they do they sometime get stuck moving forward, backwards, etc without any keys pressed. Even the ESC key to bring up the menu takes several clicks to actually have the menu appear. The game seems to be running fast, it just isn't responding to the keyboard. The mouse seems to be working fine. I experience this same behavior in single player (both survive and creative) as well as multiplayer. I've also seen this in version 14.1 but it seems like it was introduced with the installation of the insider preview win 10 builds.

I have tried this on a PC with the latest Windows 10 fast ring insider build (14332.r1_release.160422-1940)
as well as on a Surface Pro 3 on a Win 10 build 14316. I have tried different keyboard settings in Minecraft without any luck. Right now the game is unplayable with a keyboard.

I have seen a few other keyboard related bugs but nothing recent, open, or directly related to this issue. Let me know if you need anymore detail.

How is the keyboard connected to the PC or to the Surface 3 Pro? I presume you have no double press issues in other applications.

I have not noticed this issue on Win 10 Pro build 1511 (OS build 10586.218) using touch interface or and bluetooth keyboard (Microsoft Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 6000) running on an Asus B121 tablet (playing mcpe 0.14.2)

rplatham,

On the PC the keyboard is connected via USB. On the Surface Pro 3 it is the type cover which is connected via the standard port that the Surface uses for the touch cover. On the Surface the touch screen controls work as expected, this is only an issue with the keyboard. I am not experiencing keyboard issues with any other application or game on either the PC or the Surface.

As I mentioned I am only seeing this on the latest Insider builds. PC is on 1511 Build 14332.1001. I believe the build you are using 10586.218 is the standard released update. I realize there are some expectations that there may be issues with Windows 10 Insider Builds, but I wanted to bring this bug up since it is impacting multiple devices.

This issue seems like it may be related to MCPE-14055, the suggestion in that issue was build 14342 resolved the issue. Installing now and will report back. This build was just released to the fast ring in the last 24 hours.

Just finished the upgraded to Win10 14342 which seems to have resolved this issue on the PC. Will try to upgrade the surface tomorrow and report back.
