When we use the cartography table to make maps and then add paper to expand their view all we receive is the area where the one who made the map is in. But, you can't see your marker or anyone else's markers. I'm not sure if this is just on the Playstation or if it's an issue on other platforms too. Thank you in advance!

Have you combined the map with a compass in the crafting grid to turn it into a locator map? If not, you will need to do that to see player markers.
