No mobs spawning and hunger bar not depleting

New map started with the beta build. Only played in survival mode. No issues for a few hours over multi sessions. Then my health bar was not depleting. Can still take damage and other survival mode characteristics still fine. Later noticed no new mobs were spawning. Samsung Galaxy S6

My apologies, you are right. I must have inadvertently changed it. Still fairly new to minecraft, didnt even know that was a thing on survival.
