I've been developing a shader pack, and have had to make all block light sources except torches, and lanterns glow with an emissive layer, as they do not have one by default, as the torches and lanterns do.
Β
Steps to reproduce:
Go to [Minecraft with RTX PBR Texturing Guide | GeForce News | NVIDIA|https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/guides/minecraft-rtx-texturing-guide/] and download the example shader (or any shader pack without the blocks added manually)
enable the pack
Only torches and lanterns emit light with RTX on
The screenshots only show lava and fire, but this bug applies to all blocks
Thank you for your report!
However, this issue has been closed as Working as Intended.
From the FAQ:
"Why Arenβt all Light-Emitting Blocks Glowing in Ray Tracing Worlds?"
Only torches, redstone torches, end rods, and lanterns are coded as point lights. All other blocks will require emissive textures, made by creators. We have instructions on how to create textures packs that utilize these features at http://aka.ms/raytracingdocs
