I have friends on Xbox, PS and PC that all can’t join my maps. Most of their content comes up as 1.18.1 not what I have at 1.18.2. When they all go searching they cannot find an update for their games at all. How do I have a newer version than they do and why can’t they find the ability to update the same way?

The reason you can't play with each other is because you have confused 1.18.1 and 1.18.10, which are two distinct updates. (moderators, if this counts as off-topic, you may remove this comment without warning)
Ok, so I labeled this resolved because I figured it out. Yes, I understand that 1.18.10 is newer than 1.18.2. I abbreviated the number. Fact is I was part of the Microsoft insider program and they did an update. I didn’t know it was a beta, just that my version number changed and I couldn’t play with anyone. I removed the beta and reinstalled the game and everything is golden. No further need for responses. Thank you all for trying to be helpful but it’s all figured out.
1.18.10 is later than 1.18.2 (10 > 2), and is the latest release version.
You will need to update your game to the 1.18.10 release version to match what they have.
