I was building something and I placed a cut copper slab and it was placed down, not up. So, I tested it and the copper slabs went down, up, down, up, and so on. The copper slabs always started down, even if I aimed at the upper part of a block.
How to reproduce
Get any variant of a cut copper slab (waxed, oxidized, weathered, exposed).
Place it on the upper part of a block then place it again and again.
Observed results
The cut copper slabs are placed like this: first down, then up and it repeats.
Expected results
The cut copper slabs should have been placed in a straight line.

Currently building a shop with top cut copper slabs for the roof. Cannot continue untill this bug is fixed. When clicking on the top half of a block it places on the bottom half no matter what I do.
Please fix this bug as fast as possible so I can build my shop.
This is how copper slab placement is for a roof edge: place slab against the lower section of a block or against another low slab, places fine. Place slab on an upper section of the block, slab still goes to the lower. Try to place one above the incorrectly placed slab and instead of connecting to a block it places in the upper half of an air block next to where you wanted to place it. My video is too big so I put the three pics from the video showing this.
I found a workaround for this.
If you place slab to the side of a block it will place incorrectly. If you place it again still aiming at side of that original block, it will place the next one over in the top position. It doesnt for a full block.
So i make a row of solid blocks 2 away , place the buggy one then place again to get top slab I need.
There is no need for new comments: this is already fixed in one of the 1.19.10 preview versions, unless this bug suddenly returns on a future preview or so.
If they have fixed it they’ve fixed it in the Minecraft Preview version not the original. So in the original it is still broken because it has gotten to the 1.19.1 update. The Minecraft Preview has a preview of the 1.19.1 update. Therefore it is still broken. It hasn’t been officially fixed yet.
Still an issue as of 6/26/2022, I'm playing on a Creative world right now to iron out a survival build and the cut copper slabs are still placing incorrectly (up/down/up/down/up) and not in their proper orientation. The work around is such a pain it's not worth it so I've hit in impasse in my build for who knows how long.
I'm playing on the most recent bedrock version on PS5 on a brand new world (like I made it yesterday), so this issue definitely isn't resolved yet.
Found a workaround is that you place it on the bottom of a solid block that is above a bottom copper slab (don't know if you can use other slabs). The slab would be placed 2 blocks below the solid block, on the top half of it's block
Still an issue (I'm on Switch) as of 07042022. I've had this world forever, haven't played it in a while, but last time I played I was working on a large build, the roof is all copper slabs. Now there's a weird hole in my roof I can't fix because I knocked out some weather copper to replace with waxed copper and I can't place the waxed copper correctly. All other slab types work, just not copper. Please fix!
Something like this occurred with me although I was trying to place bottom half slabs of cut copper and it would place but in some seemingly random places it does not place without fiddling around with it. Very annoying.
