i see amethyst shards in almost every chest. some chests don't contain echo shards at all. some chests contain 15 amethyst shards and 2 echo shards. see the ratio.
i thought it was a bug that amethyst shards replaced echo shards. I'm not sure if it is.

This is Working as Intended. Amethyst shards can be found found in a quantity of 1-15 per chest, while Echo shards can only be found in a quantity of 1-3 per chest. You may also could see the wiki for more details.
This is the expected behavior of the current Ancient City loot table and matches Java edition. Echo shards are meant to be rare and difficult to find. The secondary issue is also undescribed, making it difficult to ascertain the issue. Beyond that, though, this report is invalid. Please report only one issue per report.
