Paintings and Minecarts and Boats can be broken by players with custom defaults permission level.
I don't know if this is the original specification.
Steps to reproduce:
Create any world in creative mode
Place a painting on a wall, and a minecart on a rail , and a boat on the ground
Change to survival mode and set your permission level to "custom defaults", which equates to having no permissions at all
Punch the painting and minecart and boat, you'll be able to break both
Place the minecart and boat, you'll be able to place both
Observed Result:
You can break paintings or minecarts or boats even when they shouldn't be able to as Custom defaults permission level also You can place Minecarts and boats
Expected Result:
You cannot break paintings or minecarts or boats
You cannot place minecarts and boats
You shouldn't be able to do anything but get in and out.
Notes:
I use machine translation because I am not good at English.
I was used as reference similar to MCPE-132869 in visitor mode, which is a resolved issue
Are there any differences between visitor permission level and custom defaults permission level specifications?
Custom defaults permission level can interact the bed but visitor permission level cannot interact the bed
Visitors cannot sleep in beds or set up a respawn point MCPE-154518
Has the specification changed by modifying MCPE-132869 ?

Title correction: Players can always break entities with a custom permission level
I am having this issue. I am trying to create a roleplaying map where people can use switches/containers and hurt mobs. The only problem is that people can break entities such as paintings and minecarts. There is nothing I can do about it. I tried several different solutions for hours, but there is no way to fix this, so I am counting on mojang to fix this.
I remember this being an issue years ago. I played bedrock in 1.13. I play the legacy minecraft mostly because it doesn't have lag, and when I came back to bedrock recently after years, I was shocked to see that this was STILL something they haven't fixed. Seems like a pretty major issue to me, this makes it so there is no way to make adventure maps.
Edit: I noticed that they did actually fix a bug so you can't break entities with VISITOR permission, but once you allow them to use switches or to attack players, they are suddenly given the rights to break entities.
2 updates later and this major bug is still not fixed. I get that most people don't care, since bedrock is unoptimized for creative mode maps so most people just play survival, but minecraft is about creativity so it's frustrating how it isn't possible to create adventure maps with entities as decorations. I'm still playing on the legacy edition since I can make better playable adventure maps on that game since this bug isn't present on the legacy edition. Also, this is very easily fixable I assume.
In 1.19.0.33, all toggles default to Yes when changed to custom permissions
I set Build and Mine to No, but the minecart, boat, and painting can be broken, and the minecart and boat can be placed
If Attack bobs is Yes, the armor stand can be destroyed
