i tried to update my daughters version of minecraft on her fire tablet.
i usually do this by deleting and reinstalling the app
i have done this many times
last night i tried it again and after it downloads from the appstore it says cannot install.
i have reformatted my sd card and factory reset the tablet and have the same result.
amazon customer support tells me to contact mojang.
mojang tells me to report a bug.

What specific model of tablet do you have?
You might also try installing from the Google Play store instead.
Usually you should not need to delete a prior app installation before installing a new one, and doing so might risk deleting worlds.

We are having the same issue with our kids HD 10 fire tablets as well. Game was crashing & having trouble with booting our kids out of servers & their own worlds. My oldest uninstalled it & is trying to redownload it. It gets to the 3/4 on the download then stops & gives the error "can not install" & tells us to try again or contact Amazon. Guess it could be due to the download server being overwhelmed by a lot of people trying to redownload & install the app.
