The flying machine on the pictures works pretty much.
But sometimes this one piston in the picture gets lost and somehow the flying machine keeps moving for 2-5 blocks even without the piston.

There is probably a timing issue and the flying machine is attempting to pull the piston while it is extended. Also, that piston does not seem to be pushing anything in the design anyway.
