Nintendo Switch Block Breaking Lag

On the Switch, single-player, ~200 MB world if that matters.  Blocks place and break with variable lag.

Most of the time, blocks break and place with non-noticeable lag, but also not infrequently they take between a half second and ten seconds to render.

Sometimes this results in an x-ray if you step into the space that was occupied by the block, sometimes not.  (I could test this out more if it's important.)

During this time, the wireframes and other side-effects like shadows and water flow seem to update significantly faster.  You can place new blocks on the empty wireframes of previously placed blocks, for instance.  When it takes longer than a second or so, this is helpful to notice, but it's a lousy gameplay experience.

The block breaking lag makes it very annoying to dig a trench that's a specific length, for instance, as sometimes you're stuck waiting a second or longer to verify that the block was broken at all without digging too far.

I have been playing on Switch since 1.17 and didn't notice significant/persistent block breaking lag until post-1.18.30.

I also have this issue and would add that it also applies to gates. I will open a gate and walk through it but the gate still is closed visually as the game has significant lag to render the opened gate. Same with closing.

Also of note is that if I dig into a side of a hill with my efficiency shovel and take out a lot of blocks at once the game can't keep up with the render and I can see through the world and to caves below.

Switch just seems to have an overall huge issue with rendering and it gets even worse if you do 2 player split screen. Oceans in particular are extremely slow to render.

I had this problem on my Switch since 1.16

I've also had this where blocks will break, allow me to step into the space and then rubber band and reappear in the space, causing suffocation damage. Similarly sized world and very variable. Also never had this happen until the 1.18.33 hotfix.

I have also been dealing wth this since 1.18.30.

In general, the game just seems very slow at rendering block updates now, whether it's breaking a single block and having the game desync and reset it, or having to sit and wait for blocks to spawn in after you die or reach the limit of visible chunks when traveling by boat.

I have noticed it happens often at the same time as the 'loading chest icon' in the top right corner, so this and most other problems (Inventory taking longer to load. Automatic saving and saving upon exit from the game often takes 1-2 minutes each time for me as of 1.19) This issue is becoming much more noticeable on the Nintendo Switch, but doesn't seem to exist on the Windows 10 bedrock version. I'd like to give the developers the benefit of the doubt but this is really quite poor, it's seems like they do not realise how much of an issue this is.

Same problems here (switch 1.19.1), too. Additionally my world size went from 24mb to 59mb in 3 days. That's a bit much for just building around one village. Autosave takes about 3 minutes and during that the game freezes regularly.
I tried to walk about 180 blocks and i had to wait at chunk borders about 2 minutes before the next chunk was fully visible. Playing on a render distance of 5 chunks and options as low as possible.

Edit:
My savefile is now at 5gb, after playing about 1 week with 1.19. That World is unplayable now.

The problem is still present in the 1.20.12 version.
