THINGS THAT MADE THE CONCLUSION
Clearing Cache returns all the fps from 1.16.
Cache is up to 3GB. (at my record)
Playing minecraft for longer periods of time decreases performance. And increases cache
Dramatically decrasing lag when clearing cache
EXPECTED ON BUG FIX
40-60fps
Cache will be properly managed automatically
Cache will have a setting(e.g. max cache 64MB-1024)
REPRODUCTION
Notice##: Do this on a low end device. You may not notice the bug on high end systems. I recommend using android for the ability to clear cache while minecraft is running.
Play on any world/server with many players.
Load as many skins, profile picture as possible.
Be busy loading textures, skins, marketplace thumbnails and profile pictures for atleast 45 minutes.
Look and observe your fps, responsiveness, lag
Check your cache (do not close minecraft)
Clear Cache(do not close minecraft)##Clear Cache while minecraft is running
Open minecraft(you might see pink glitch but that's normal)
Look and observe your performance again

Why am I setting this up to multiple devices:
I have tested this in Windows 10. It seems to load the marketplace images slow at first (my internet is slow 1mbps), then after relaunching the game, loading up the marketplace for the second time was fast.
IOS still unconfimed but I saw this video from youtube it may help https://youtu.be/CjCLtI_k2dI
I don't have a console
Android Confirmed
Alternate title for this bug
Minecraft indefinitely loading cache.
minecraft does not unload unnecessary cache.

I have changed the device to Android because your steps seem to apply only to Android. Can you explain where this cache could be found on other devices?
Also, have you actually tested this in each version that you selected for Affected Version/s? You should only select versions where you have reproduced the bug.

Hmm. I think it's a good idea to put this only to Android. I just believed that it happens in the whole minecraft code since Code is almost the same as the others. I have tested this on the Minecraft 1.19.20 beta (not preview). There is no other way to verify the problem onto other devices because I don't have them. I will remove the versions that I included which I could not test but would return them after others have commented the same issue from other devices.
Edit: I tried to remove them but I can't.

I am still observing for 1.19.0 release though. I will try to get the screenshot to be displayed on this bug report. 😃
Edit: After doing the same methods to reproduce this bug in 1.19.0, here is the screenshot:

793MB of Cache(FOR NOW). Record high:3GB
As of now, 628MB of cache collected, still being unmanaged by the application.

I searched the keyword "Minecraft Bedrock Edition Cache" on YouTube and found this video. https://youtu.be/CjCLtI_k2dI
It has a Minecraft with a whopping 7GB of unidentified data. I cannot still confirm since I am not an apple user but this could be it.

I think I am getting this on my iPad Pro iOS 15 Minecraft 1.19.2
If I run my quad-portal zombie piglin farm for a long time then mobs and redstone contraptions become extremely laggy. This happens even after I turn it off and all the zombie piglins are dead and all items collected. At this point I can't even really turn it on again b/c everything moves so slow it doesn't really work; zombies never make it to the killer where the pistons and trident are moving too slow to kill them all anyway.
The weird thing is it only seems to affect mobs and pistons. My own movement is fine, framerate is fine, but mobs and pistons and redstone signals move at a snails pace. Like every part of the simulation is messed up except player physics.
Reconnecting to the server does not help. Force-quitting minecraft does not help. The only thing that helps is rebooting my iPad as per this report.
This did not affect 1.18.

This report is specific to Android devices and concerns the cache data size shown in the screenshots. I know from looking at the files in Windows that Minecraft actually uses several caches for different things, and I don't know which the Android cache corresponds to on other devices. However, based on the repro steps it seems to relate to caching of marketplace content. Lag from a specific farm would not be related to that.

for me the cache data seemed to increase alot on my android phone due to both going onto the minecraft marketplace as well as playing on the servers itself. I find it really strange of why the amt of cache data seemed to have increased alot to 1.8MB on my phone, like usually whenever Im done playing servers, the cache data only takes up like 0.1 or 0.2MB which happened before version 1.19, and the bug report that i created was marked as duplicate as it was the same as this bug report, and im playing on version 1.19.2.02

I don't think the cache system is necessarily at fault here, but there does need to be a hard limit to the amount of objects that can be cached client-side, or some sort of expiration after X amount of time. There's likely tons of cached sub-chunks that haven't been used in months on most devices.

So is Mojang gonna fix the bug tho, as it affects android users like me. To add on, I didnt use the marketplace, but only played on the servers itself only.
