Alright, so the issue I have is that I am trying to play Minecraft Preview on iPadOS with mouse and keyboard (for which has been added support in one of recent Betas).
Even though the support may still be buggy (this is an another example https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE-29424), there is one key thing that still didn't get patched, and it is that all Apple keyboards for iPads don't have a proper Escape key on them. I'll drop a picture of the variant I'm using down in the attachments so you can see.
While I know iPadOS has a setting only for the entire system called Modifier keys, that lets you change behaviour only for certain keys (these being the Caps Lock key, Globe, Control, Alt and Command) where you can remap one of them to function like Escape. The thing is, changing this would mess up the functionality of the entire iPad, and I don't want to do this just to play a game.
Instead, I was thinking of adding an another setting to the Keyboard and Mouse controls category which lets you apply the Escape key's functionality to another one. (An example - If you look in the attachments, I would personally change it to the <> key on the keyboard in the top left).
I don't think this would be much of a big deal, it's only one setting really that would make the game much more accessible for many Bedrock players out there. Scrapping this would be a weird decision since many new iPadOS players wouldn't even know about the modification keys function, and even if they would, this solution isn't perfect either since it affects the entire tablet, not just the game and you can only set it to some keys which aren't really the best choice you would set it to.
What to say more - please fix it 😅, and have a great day!
Btw, I have visualized how I would imagine it to look like in Minecraft, you can see in the Attachments.
