Game froze while returning from Nether and I ended up dead in a random ocean.

I had been in the Nether for roughly and hour collecting items. The game was slightly freezing at points but it was manageable. I then returned through my nether portal. The game then sat on the “generating world screen for 5+ minutes. I closed the app and restarted, once my world reloaded again I was dead in an ocean. There a no oceans within 300 blocks of my home and nether portal. I was not shown a death screen or any coordinates where I can track my items to. I have lost everything. All the materials I collected, all of my shulker items, all of my netherite tools and all of my netherite armour.
