[MCPE-159198] Blocks disappearing after placing, not dropping in survival

(this report originated from somebody's support request in #community-support in the official mc server)

The device and version are in the OS Version section but that apparently doesn’t show, so it’s a Galaxy Note 8, and I am waiting on a response for the Android version.

Approximately 3-5 seconds after placing blocks, all of them disappear at once, and no breaking particles appear. Also, breaking blocks doesn't appear to show any breaking particles. This does not seem like an issue that is very common, nor one with an obvious solution. I am not experiencing this issue, but somebody else, who I can contact for more details.

What device is used by the friend exactly, and what OS version?
Does the friend experience any other lag symptoms, like mobs struggling to walk etc.?

I asked them if they would give that information but this was the response, I would close this issue due to lack of response since they haven't responded to me after messaging 2 hours ago.
