Tools do not work for the first time after crafting

Tools after crafting do not work for the first time.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Craft any tool using the crafting table.

2. Try to break any block using the tool.

3. It won't work for the first time. After that the icon pops in the hotbar, and works from the next time.

An workaround for this is: after crafting the tool, right click the tool in your hotbar and then use it. This bug seemed to be fixed in a previous update (can't confirm, could be my hallucination) but it's back again.
