im sure you guys have had some complaints about this one but mobs aren't spawning in a river biome. I've built a mob farm over my house in the mangrove swamp and mobs aren't spawning in it. I think it also has to do with the river since there are so many water features in the mangrove. I just hope this is a quick fix for you guys which I'm upset I can't use my mob farm and iron farm as they are both affected by this bug. i know you guys have a lot on your plate so take your time but hopefully I see this bug fix in one of the next few updates!

Zombies, spiders, creepers and skeletons spawn in river biomes in java, but in Bedrock Edition they don't spawn in water depths, they have not spawn weights, this is an old issue, please fix it
Note that these mobs spawn in shallow water, but not deep water, which requires Java parity
The river biomes have never had the “monster” tag in Bedrock Edition. Now that rivers are bigger since 1.18 they are often mistaken for small oceans or parts of oceans, so a lot more players are running into this issue when building farms.
To reproduce, just make a platform over a large river and set time to night. Monsters will not spawn within the boundaries of the river biome. (Note that the water of the river may extend a couple of blocks into neighboring biomes due to blending.)
