This bug has been along time ago. When a snowball hits an armor, the durability decreased even if a snowball is weak and no damage. Also with blaze fireballs, we all know netherite armor dknt decrease durability from any lava or fire objects but blaze fireballs are the only fire objects that can damage netherite durability, bc the fireball is fire and the blaze fireball SHOULDN'T damage the netherite armor's durability.

For the snowball, does the armor have the Thorns enchantment? If so, be sure to check if the issue occurs without that enchantment and note that on any new report.
For the Blaze Fireball, that item also does Projectile damage, which is probably what is reducing armor durability.
