Signs not working correctly

A lot of people in the community have been talking about this issue and it's frustrating that it still hasn't been fixed or even really addressed to my knowledge. I play Minecraft Bedrock Edition on my Xbox One S and since I believe 2 updates or patches ago signs have been almost unusable for their intended purpose in the game. I've been trying to use colored signs for better sorting my items and it was working perfectly fine until an update happened that made the feature break entirely. Before the update or patch when you placed a sign it would just show the sign and you'd select the row you want to type on before it would bring up the text box to enter your desired text. Now when I place a sign it automatically prompts the text box and the only way to select which row you're typing on is to press select which then brings up another text box. I'm not sure what brought upon this sudden change in the mechanics of the sign but the way it worked before was perfect and didn't need to be changed. Because of this happening I'm unable to finish my storage project and it's just annoying and frustrating to me and a lot of other players. Please fix this bug soon as it seems like something minor that could be fixed overnight. Thank you guys for the amazing game I hope to see the problems and bugs within your game resolved soon.
