It has become very difficult to split items using touch controls. Kindly reverse it back to what it used to be during 1.19.30 and before. We can't split items easily anymore, it's very difficult to do so using touch controls.

I'm sorry, MCPE-162124 doesn't describe my issue.
My issue is with splitting items in the inventory. Example: I have 64 planks, my friend wants 20.
Earlier, I could easily split the items, it was smooth too. But now, it's just very difficult to do so, and it is time consuming.

Have you turned on the "Split Controls" option via Settings > Touch > Split Controls ?
You might have to switch to the Classic UI to access the setting and then back to the Touch UI.

I think the issue is, there’s now an extra delay before the stack starts splitting making it  slower, and more difficult to time specific amounts of items
