New controller does not allow you to interact with entities. It’s not possible to move the pointer without hitting the object. This means to repair an Iron Golem, you need to hit it first. To trade, hit the villager first. You can move into the same block and trade or repair but that doesn’t work with mine carts or boats. When you move onto the same block they move away.
