My problem is exactly as I stated, despite having a keyboard plugged in I still get a pop-up keyboard for command prompts which reduces the functionality greatly.. cannot cycle through previous commands because of it. I can't even look up the list of commands. And when I am able to type out a command it typically errors out.. like for a fill command it'll say a replaced zero blocks.
I've used this keyboard for years alongside multiple Xboxes and it's worked just fine and I've not had this problem until this release of the game.
I tried even starting up Minecraft without a controller plugged in at all and I still have the same issue. I've tried reinstalling Minecraft. Same issue.
I have no idea why this is happening.
