I went to the End recently and tried to throw an ender pearl at an end ship, but it ended up teleporting me to the edge of an island, where I then fell into the Void. In a panic, I closed the game on my Xbox and tried to reload it, only to find that my world doesn't load anymore. I tried for half an hour, but it never progressed past the loading world menu.

However, this issue is Invalid.
If you force-quit the game without saving it is somewhat unpredictable what state it might end up in. You should never do that. Better to risk losing items than your entire world.
I would recommend letting it wait on the loading screen for a good long time (several hours at least). The game might be trying to repair your world.
