Calibrated sculk sensors are weird with detecting frequencies

Create a new creative world
Place a calibrated sculk sensor
Place redstone dust for 15 blocks and a torch next to it when you are facing the side that receives the redstone signal as an input.
The wiki says that frequency 15 is players/mobs dying or an explosion
This is incorrect as the sensor detects walking and running.

However, this issue has been temporarily closed as Awaiting Response.

Does this work as expected if you place a Redstone Block next to the Calibrated Sculk Sensor (specifically on the side that has the amethyst line)?
