The bug is when carpet is located at head height. I have built a neather ice highway and have put packed ice at the bottom, buttons on the ice and then put carpet on top of the buttons. I first noticed this roughly 1-2 months ago (Late March 2023-Early April of 2023).
When I get into a boat the block above the carpet shows a fully black screen and the carpet. This is extremely annoying to deal with due to the fact I have placed close to thousands of carpets on 75% of my neather highway.
Below I have put 3 screenshots that show when I am sitting in the boat before and after I go into the carpet block. I was also able to get a screenshot of the black square without my whole screen becoming black.
My apologies if I am not wording everything correctly, this is my first time reporting a bug.

not only carpets also fences etc. thats because you enabled experimental option called "short sneaking"
