1.20.1 not compatible with large older worlds?

I have a survival world that becomes seemingly "corrupt" after saving two times. Yes you read that right. From a backup, if I save once I can load back in just fine but if I save and quit again upon trying to reload It will get stuck on "loading resources" then either say "there was a problem loading this world" or it will crash the game with purple and black textures. My friend has this same issue and both of our worlds are larger than 1Gb and were both fine prior to 1.20.1. PLEASE FIX as I've had this world for 2.5 years and have never had issues until this update. I've tried multiple things to remedy the issue such as reinstalling Minecraft, changing resource packs and nothing worked.

There is a big issue with larger worlds. I took me a long time (over a week) to get our server back up because it kept boot looping and crashing the world. Even with no packs on, and loading multiple backups.Β
