Bluetooth mouse not working AT ALL on iOS 17

[UPDATE] WORKAROUND: AssistiveTouch must be enabled for the mouse to work in iOS 17.

I haven’t used a Bluetooth mouse/keyboard to play Minecraft on my iPhone in months. Not since like 1.19.5. But today I decided I wanted to play Minecraft Bedrock again, and since my Windows laptop has now become a glorified paperweight, I have to use my iPhone to do so, since I don’t have an iPad or a Mac with Apple Silicon. But when I opened the world, my Bluetooth mouse does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. It used to work perfectly fine (at least for movement, attacking/breaking, placing, interacting, etc.). It never worked in the menus but now is completely unresponsive in-game. I’m really frustrated because I absolutely hate using touch controls on Minecraft, and now it doesn’t seem to recognize my Bluetooth mouse anymore. I have no idea if it has to do with some weird change in iOS 17 that wasn’t in iOS 16 or maybe something broke since the release of 1.20. I just want to use my mouse again😞

What mouse model exactly are you using?

I can confirm the same happening to me on iOS 17, bluetooth mouse not working. There are also other apps I've been using that seem to have their external mouse support broken, such as a remote desktop app.

Running with an MX Master 3.

I'm not a developer in the apple eco system but could this be related to the issue?

I almost completely forgot about this bug I posted, I did find the solution.

For some reason, something changed in iOS 17 that broke the built-in support for mouse, but AssistiveTouch has to be enabled for it to work. It would be nice though if this was resolved, because I would very much like to not have to turn on and off AssistiveTouch all the time, especially since a lot of iPhone users might not know how to do that anyway.

Is this still an issue as of 1.21.1?
