Trail ruins not spawning at all in my world

Bedrock, seed -856816205. Searched every biome for countless hours and found no trail ruins. Tried chunkbase, numerous different coordinates had no trail ruins despite other locations (like villages) being correct.

Hi

Does this issue occur only on Bedrock dedicated server or it can be reproduced on local worlds/Realms?

Hello, I’m not sure to be honest. Whenever I started playing Minecraft for the first time, I just started a single player world and have been playing that for years. I googled what realms were (because I didn’t know what you meant by that) and I don’t pay for any server or play in a multiplayer world if that helps. Has this happened to anyone else and is there a way to fix my world so that the trail ruins spawn?

Are you playing in a world that you started in earlier versions? If so, if the chunks were already generated in earlier versions the trail ruins won't be recreated, but if you go to new chunks they should be there.
Have you dug underground at places where you expected to find the trail ruins? You might be experiencing MCPE-170027.
Does the issue occur in a brand-new world with the same seed? (You can just make a creative world and enter that seed and then fly around to where the ruins are supposed to be.)

Thank you, that was it. I had to travel thousands of blocks away to find one, considering I’ve been playing this world for years, I’ve been everywhere around my base in every direction. However, what I don’t understand is that when the Ancient City came out, I found two very close to my base. So how could those spawn in areas that I already discovered but I had to find new chunks in order for the trail ruins to spawn?

The reason you were able to find Ancient Cities in already explored chunks is because the world was extended downward from Y=0 to Y=-63, since there was no data there to replace. For existing chunks above Y=0, the game would not know whether it was safe to regenerate them (and in most cases it would not be), so it could not just insert Trail Ruins into those chunks.

Reopening this since it seems to be happening in my world as well.

It is a realm started in 1.17, but we have been sure to travel extremely far away from spawn to generate 1.20 chunks.

Other ruins with suspicious sand have generated in these new chunks, which tells me I am far enough away to find Trail ruins, but they do not seem to be spawning at all.

Checked a locally downloaded save of the realm as well with no difference. Used Chunkbase to find locations of trail ruins, along with cheats to locate trail ruins as well.

Seed is 1383886229.
