In Java Edition, hitting the side of a honey block at an angle will keep your momentum in the direction parallel to the wall while stopping your momentum perpendicular to it. In Bedrock edition, it also stops your parallel momentum.
Steps to reproduce:
Send an entity (boat in my example) at a honey block wall from a wide angle at a high speed.
Observed result:
Entity momentum stops in x and z directions no matter what
Expected result:
Entity should continue in the direction parallel to the wall as it slides
