The mouse does not disappear once you get into the world. For readers other than Minecraft Developers, if you close Minecraft completely and get back in, you can get the controls back.

Cleaning up old tickets: This ticket had been set to 'Awaiting Response', but has not received a response from the reporter (~3 months+) so is being closed as Incomplete.
