I don't know if that's what the game is like, but I don't think it's normal for a villager to be able to pick up a job 40 blocks from my house to where I have it. It's very frustrating because I have to remove all the tables in my house, including my decoration since the villagers grab those jobs, while in minecraft java you have to go to the table to pick up the job, and they go to the nearest table, I don't know if you could fix that as a parity feature
