Second block stacks are bugged

When I was playing minecraft with my brother, I decided to get some sand for glass panes. I collected two stacks of sand and came back to base when I smelted my first stack, it was fine but my second stack was broken. I could not interact with it, when I tried to move it around in my inventory, it did not respond, I could not drop it. This was not only my problem as it also happened to my brother. I don't have images because it would not show I was pressing my controller.
