When an armor with trim is placed anywhere in a container, an armor without trim in the same position in another container of the same type will display the trim of the same smithing template and material.
Verified in:
Chest
Ender Chest
Trapped Chest
Shulker Box
Dispenser
Anvil
Inventory
Donkey with chest
It seems that the problem can occur anywhere items can be stored.
This issue only occurs when the same type of container is used. For example, placing armor with trim in a shulker box and then placing armor without trim in a chest will not cause this issue.
When the armor with trim is removed, the problem still exists.
