Nightlight Detector effected by blocks

When I cover a nightlight detector during the day, it's affected by the blocks surrounding. I was using a redstone comparator to see how it affects the nightlight detector. It's not affected by light sources surrounding it during the night.

The daylight detector was not affected when it was night and adding a light scouse around it.

It is not clear what you actually think is wrong here.
In both cases (normal daylight detector and inverted daylight detector), only light from the "sun" has any effect. Other light source blocks have no effect. This is exactly as you described.

If the daylight (light from sun) is blocked, then the detector will either activate (in the inverted mode), or deactivate (in the normal mode). This also seems to be what you are showing in your video.
