Steps to reproduce:
Open Minecraft
Click “Settings”
Click “Video”
Scroll down to “Graphics Mode”
Set it to anything other than “Simple” (e.g., “Fancy”)
Load up a world.
Observe that the leaves have their solid texture
Return to video settings.
Observe that the graphics mode is set to “Simple”
Affects both local worlds and servers. Have not tested LAN or Realms. Rebooting the game does not fix the problem.

Device is an iPad Pro M4 running iPadOS 18.3.1 (the latest version as of 27 Feb 2025).
[media]In forums outside of the bug tracker, a similar issue affecting RTX has been raised that matches the description of this one exactly, aside from the user setting the graphics mode to RTX instead of Fancy. Version was 1.21.60 in this case (same version this issue started on iPadOS). Since both Fancy Graphics and RTX were consolidated into the same drop down menu, I suspect it’s the same bug. Since RTX is only avaliable on Windows, the bug evidently at the very least, affects iPadOS and Windows.
Update: After further investigation, it looks like whenever I set graphics mode to Fancy in the game settings, then load up a world, the area around me has transparent leaves, but outside of that area, the leaves are all solid. If I unload the area I logged in on and reload it, the leaves are all solid.
Cannot reproduce. Could you attach a video of the issue? Also, what devices did you test this on?
