Respawn point ignored if > 10000 blocks from original world spawn

During my survival world i traveled over 10,000 blocks away from the original spawn point when i first loaded in then i built my base and sleep in my bed that reset my spawn point (So i thought) but then i died due to fall damage and i ended up back to my original world spawn point
