Teleporting the player with any means, either it be through commands or script, will usually throw the player in the same direction they where walking before the teleport.
In the video, I set up 2 command blocks, both outside of render distance, to teleport the player back and forth facing the same direction. I start walking until I hit the button. I stop walking right when I teleport at some instances but I still get launched. Sometimes, instead of being launched, there’s a little snap to place.

I have the same bug, if you have the speed effect, the player is also thrown for dozens of blocks. sometimes the player even passes through the blocks and this is a big problem. I hope it will be fixed soon.

Can confirm. I also hope they fix the bug where the render distance randomly decreases to 5 chunks after 30 minutes.
