Bundle contents removed by creeper explosion when in a double chest

I was casually playing survival, moving stuff in my double chest which had ~8 bundles in it. A creeper came behind and blew up half the double chest. i replaced the double chest from the drop, and then opened it, to find all the bundles were now empty. Absolutely fuming and a very critical bug. unable to reproduce in creative world, needs more testing.
