While running and breaking blocks in a pattern that lets me break 2 rows wide or tall, after a few seconds the blocks disappear without the breaking animation or sound. Then they all get the breaking animation and sound all at once. Sometimes you get knocked back, too. That kind of thing used to happen on occasion but maybe only a couple of blocks would glitch that way, but not like it does now.
what makes this bad is that some of the glitches broken blocks are actually still there but are invisible. If you try to walk through them you bounce off of them. Sometimes they may reappear but most of the time it takes a save and reload for that to happen.
While strip mining in a row like this, it will happen once every 10 seconds on average. Since I am trying to clear out a large area in survival, this is quite an annoying issue to deal with.
I am playing with the Natural Texture Pack by Minecraft. 10 chunk simulation distance. 60-degree FOV. Render distance 35 chunks. Graphics mode fancy. Frame rate unlimited. PS5, but not the Pro mode and no aftermarket storage. I’ll see if toggling any of these potential performance-affecting settings helps in any way.

I happen to also be in the nether using a netherite pickaxe with Efficiency V and am breaking rows of netherrack. These blocks would always break prior to 1.21.70.

This example shows 2 blocks reappearing but also has at least one unbroken invisible block to bounce off of.

I’ve found a block duplication glitch involving this (due to being lag based its unlikely to be exploited) when you run into the ghost block place something on the tile. The block will be converted into whatever the last block was without using the item from your inventory. Breaking the block (without lag) gives it back to you.

*P.S. I forgot to say I’m still on 1.21.70

Duplicate of what? I’d like to upvote whatever it is…. I could not figure out how to search on this site for really, anything. Always zero results.
I removed the texture pack, set simulation distance down to 4 chunks, render distance to 5 chunks, frame rate to 30 fps, and graphics mode to simple. Disabled bobbing, camera shake, fancy leaves, beautiful skies, smooth lighting. All of this seemed to stop the problem. No lag in block breaking of any kind, but about 8 to 10% of the blocks that would normally break are not breaking at all. If I run hugging a straight wall while breaking two rows of blocks to my right, it is always the far block that incorrectly misses getting broken, and also happens to be that way if I did not toggle all those settings.
