Any patch of glowstone as a floor larger than 2x5 seems to attract zombies, we put glass over the glowstone and they are still spawning there. We kill them and with a 5x3 area 3 appear the second it becomes night, more if its a larger area (20x20 gets about 10). Slime on top seems to stop the appearance, however who wants to bounce their way through the halls all the time?

I am having the same issue but it is not just the zombies it is zombies, skeletons and witches. I am using a circle of glowstone that is 57 blocks across for lighting that may be the reason for the larger sample of mobs. Are yours spawning and stuck in the glowstone as well? I have to break the glowstone to kill the baby zombies as I cannot get to them through the glowstone.

The hall is in my kid's house, she got a witch once and broke the glass to kill it. I have a 25 tile radius circle floor in a tower that spawned a bunch of stuff before I put slime on it (bouncing house level) and the roof of the kids house is about 15 tiles square and she gets creepers sometimes. We can kill everything if we break the glass in her hall except baby zombies, where the glowstone has to be broken too. It seems zombies are harder to hit with a sword without breaking the stone, almost like it shields them.
