Disappearing Hotbar after accessing Inventory

On any world, when I open the Inventory after entering the world the hotbar disappears once the inventory is closed. The hotbar itself seems to become invisible and items in hand can be changed by tapping the screen in that general area, but the Inventory cannot be reopened. Closing the game and entering the world again only resets the hotbar for the same issue. Device is Samsung Galaxy S7
