Recently placed chests and shulker boxes disappear after unloading chunks or leaving the game

I placed a shulker box with netherite gear and the dragon egg and left the game and when I rejoined the shulker box was wiped from existence. Same thing happened with a chest that I placed down with quartz and other stuff, except this time it disappeared due to me going to the Nether.
