Using a structure block you are unable to store or load only half of a double chest. Normally you should be able to save only part of the double chest and that half of the double chests contents would be saved and loaded as a single chest however this is not the case. Instead upon loading the structure your left with an air block regardless of the side of the chest you saved. To prevent this you have to save the entire double chest.
Steps to reproduce:
Place a structure block down and set it to save the block directly above it.
Place a double chest on top of the structure block, it does not matter if the left or right half is directly on top.
Save the structure and then attempt to load it somewhere else. You will end up with an air block.
This also affects the scripting apis structure manager class and as of now there's no way to determine which half of the chest you are actually looking at if you needed to only get contents from a specific part of the chest.
