Black screen after toggling Vibrant Visuals

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open Minecraft Preview

  2. Create a world

  3. Go to Settings > Video and toggle vibrant visuals

  4. Exit the settings menu

Observed Results:

The screen appears black.

Expected Results:

The screen should not appear black.

Workaround:

Set Vibrant Visuals to “Favor Performance” (or “Favor Visuals” if you already have it set to “Favor Performance”). The screen will no longer appear black, and you can then set Vibrant Visuals back to the previous mode. This must be done every time you close and reopen the game.
