Following the upgrade to Bedrock Preview 1.21.90.21, the game runs with a slower tick speed. Mobs also move slower than typical and responses such as falling damage come with a more than one-second delay upon landing. The game never freezes nor lags in the general sense—everything is simply in slow motion.
Steps to Reproduce
1. Launch Minecraft Bedrock Preview 1.21.90.21.
2. Play a singleplayer world (one that has been used in split-screen).
3. Watch mob movement or jump from a height to check fall damage
4. Observe delayed fall damage and slower mob speed.
---
Anticipated Behavior
Game should operate at regular tick speed: mobs walk/move normally and instant damage from falling upon landing applies
---
Actual Behavior
Mobs move at a slow pace and animations are also delayed. Fall damage is dealt about a second later than landing. Everything in-game feels slower in general, as if the game's tick speed has been decreased.
---
Supplementary Information
• The same problem exists in all worlds.
• No visual frame drops occur, only delayed simulation.
• There is no installed external content (mods, shaders).
• Split-screen was utilized 5 days ago on the same device and world
Can confirm. Mob animations are extremely off, especially those from add-ons. I also checked my own tick speed (it was set to 1 as normal) and went to a separate world that everything had been previously functioning normal in to make sure it wasn’t a pack issue.
